What does this sitemap checker test?
It finds a sitemap, validates the XML, follows sitemap indexes within bounded limits, and live-checks a sample of page URLs for HTTP status, redirects, noindex directives, and canonical conflicts.
Can I enter a domain instead of a sitemap URL?
Yes. Enter example.com or a full website URL. The checker looks for Sitemap directives in robots.txt and then tries common locations such as /sitemap.xml, /sitemap_index.xml, and /wp-sitemap.xml.
Does a valid sitemap guarantee Google indexing?
No. A valid sitemap helps search engines discover preferred URLs, but indexing also depends on crawlability, canonicalization, page quality, robots directives, and search-engine decisions.
Does this tool simulate Googlebot?
No. Live URL checks use SitemapChecker.tools from our server. Use Google Search Console URL Inspection when you need to confirm what Google can fetch and how Google interprets a specific URL.
